The family of the ghazal maestro announced his unexpected passing. In a statement relayed by his daughter Nayaab, it was revealed, "With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on February 26, 2024, after battling a prolonged illness.
Pankaj Udhas was best known for his ghazals like Chitti Ayi Hai and Chandi Jaisa Rang.
In response to the news, Sonu Nigam shared his sentiments on his Instagram account, expressing, "Today, a significant part of my childhood is lost.
