COVID19 Update:-Indian Entertainment Industry to hold the production of movies, TV shows, web series from March



With the spread of novel coronavirus, Entertainment industry in India such as Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) and Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) on Sunday to take a break from shootings of films, TV Shows and Web series from March 19 to March 31.

The talk was attended by representatives of Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA), Western India Film Producers' Association (WIFPA) and Indian Film and TV Producers Council (IFTPC).

"Important bodies of Entertainment industry align a meeting to address the difficulty of coronavirus. After a number of discussions, we got here to this conclusion that from 19th March, all shootings will stop till March 31. After that, we will take a call," Ashoke Pandit, president of IFTDA, told reporters.

"We have given a gap until 19th March so that human beings get equipped accordingly, Our TV industry is an important one and even they'll get time to arrange things," he added.


Yash Raj Films also extended the release date of Dibakar Banerjee-directed "Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar".

Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" has been pushed indefinitely and Tillotama Shome's film "Sir" has been postponed.

The launch of Hollywood movies "A Quiet Place 2", "Mulan" and the new James Bond movie "No Time to Die" has also been delayed.

However, makers of "Angrezi Medium", starring Irrfan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, and Deepak Dobriyal, went in advance with the scheduled release of the film on Friday.

They introduced to release the movie on a later date in Delhi, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir, where cinema halls are underneath lockdown till March 31.

On 14th, Actor Shahid Kapoor announced that the team of his upcoming film "Jersey" has determined to suspend the shoot of the movie to cut down the spread of the radical coronavirus.
